Villa La Zattera is in a unique location on Lake Garda between Sirmione and Desenzano.

Sirmione is known for its renowned spa treatments which offer visitors a unique experience for physical and mental well-being. The spa of Sirmione is famous for the Acqua di Sirmione, a sulphurous salsobromoiodic thermal water with extraordinary therapeutic properties, linked to the ancient Fonte Bojola.
In Sirmione there are two renowned spa centres: the Terme Virgilio, located in the Colombare area, and the Terme Catullo, in the heart of the historic centre.
Paved streets run and intersect in the historic center. Walking here gives you the feeling of truly being on holiday.
The climax is reached by arriving at the old port where colorful boats moor, it almost looks like a painting. Then push yourself to the pier that goes into the lake, a splendid panorama awaits you.
The castle of Desenzano dominates the city from above and is easily reachable by continuing the walk from the historic center. It was rebuilt in the municipal era and strengthened in the 15th century, but today, unfortunately, only the walls, four imposing towers and the keep remain.
We continue talking about history and we do so by visiting the Archaeological Museum. Here is housed the oldest plow in the world dating back to the Bronze Age or more than 2,000 years BC. You can then observe various other finds dating back to prehistory, but also from more recent times.
More history and culture not to be missed, we are talking about the Roman Villa of Desenzano rediscovered only in 1921
It is one of the most important late ancient villas in all of northern Italy which includes 240 square meters of polychrome mosaics.
Here you can rest by the lake, or rent a pedal boat for a small excursion. Even in winter it is a destination that cannot be missed, you can stop to observe ducks and swans swimming in the blue waters of the lake.
Even a nice walk along the lakeside here called the marathon is advisable.
I really recommend you take a Navigazione Laghi boat that leaves from Desenzano (near the old port)
Go and discover other villages, which could be Peschiera del Garda, nearby Sirmione, and then Malcesine, Bardolino, Manerba, Garda, Limone, to name a few.
